Cambodia Well Project

For 20-plus years, the Rotary Club of Foothill-Highlands has supported efforts to provide clean drinking water to several towns in third-world countries—one of those being Cambodia.

~~PP Marilee Monagan passed around a note and pictures from Kris Young, who is affiliated with Bright Arrows, an organization in Cambodia which trains Cambodians to be self-sufficient.  PP Lee Wiggins met Kris many years ago while on a dental mission to Cambodia and has nurtured this friendship since then.  In the note, Kris thanked the Foothill-Highlands Rotary Club for their continued help.

Dear Lee,

Here are the photos of the most recent wells dug with the Rotary funds. It always makes me laugh how the signs turn out in spite of my best efforts to write it down and S…P…E…L…L it out! Khmer does not have spaces between every word.  There were four new wells dug and three repaired.  All of them were in Svay Rieng Province, which is in the east, bordering Vietnam.

Please express my thanks, again to the wonderful people at Rotary for being a blessing to so many people.
