Community Service Project, On May 6th
Our Rotary Club was contacted by the Antelope Lions Club asking for assistance with their food donation program “Antelope Feeding Antelope and Beyond”. The Foothill-Highlands Rotary Club supported this event with $300.00 for food combined with other donations from Lions, Prices, Sysco, The Point Church and others. On May 6th, Patrick Magnani, Marilee Monagan, Dominic Mecklenburg & Roland Wright were on-site to represent Rotary and set up and distribute food on the outdoor patio area at the Taste of Tuscany. The owners Jeremy & Natalie Price, are Sacramento Antelope Lions Club members and are using their restaurant as the staging area for this food donation project. A DJ with 103.9FM The Fish was on-site with music in support of the event. Of course we implemented social distancing, masks and gloves to keep everyone safe. Fresh food consisted of: potatoes, onions, bell peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, carrots, celery, beans, rice, bread, eggs, chicken, sausage, pasta, marinara sauce and more! We served over 100 families and still had some left over for seniors at a nearby elder home.
